If reports are to be believed, rap star Kanye West is designing a “one-of-a-kind” engagement ring for flame Kim Kardashian created from his late mother’s most expensive jewels. The singer is believed to propose to reality TV star Kardashian once her divorce to Kris Humphries is confirmed.
Insiders have revealed that Kanye is working with a private jeweller to create a custom-made ring for his girlfriend. A close source told RadarOnline: “Kanye picked out some of Donda’s most expensive pieces, including some diamond earrings and a ruby ring. He then gave them to a private jeweller friend to make Kim a one-of-a-kind engagement ring.”
Kanye’s mother Donda passed away in 2007 following a tragic cosmetic procedure. “Donda was such an important person in Kanye’s life, he thought the world of her and was devastated when she died,” a source explains. “And now, Kanye has found a woman he respects and loves just as much as his mom, so he wants to share her jewellery collection with Kim.”
While wedding bells may be in the new future for the couple, not everyone is happy with his recreating the engagement ring with his mother’s jewels. According to an insider, not all of Kanye’s friends are onboard with the idea: “His friends think it’s a terrible idea and are advising him not to give Kim the ring. Because it’s a gift, it would be difficult for Kanye to ask for it back if they ever split up.”
The Chicago rapper and reality TV star have been dating for several months, with Kim having recently gifted Kanye a rare Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 worth a whopping $750,000.
